Day 2 and 3 have been pretty awesome. When they say Bootcamp they are not kidding around. We have covered about every major thing with php that can be done. The food has been awesome and even better yet I have made some good business contacts here.
This is a pretty cool thing – like today we were working on bignerdranch.com website taking it apart and putting it into functions and includes and then using sessions, classes and other stuff like pear::db and pear::quick_form to do some elite h4x0r. Ok so the cool thing was I wasnt really into working on the bnr mock page so I just ssh’d to my server and made live updates on websites with my new kung fu live! I asked my instructor if he was ok with that and he said that the goal of the whole course is to learn tools you can apply in real life so if I am able to do that while in class the better. Especially as I would have him as a resource if I run into trouble.
I cant believe how fast this week has gone. The classes are totally awesome but what is even better is the downtime IMO. I think i am really lucky to have such a great group of classmates who are very social and helpful. It seems everyone here has a special talent. I hope people here are getting something out of my search engine marketing chatter.. I know the securty, accounting, parenting, and php information that I have recieved have been pretty invaluable =)
