With the exception of Monty Python, British comedy never translates very well to the states. You could list about ten different shows that failed to carry over across the pond. Remember Coupling? I'd be shocked if the Office makes it to season 3. Of course these days NBC is desperate to hold onto any show that can bring in viewers, since Joey sucks, Will and Grace is going away and Friends is a distant memory.
