Mintek 26″ LCD TV/DVD Combo makes a nice 4th monitor

TV DVDThe other day I was thinking of watching The Lord Of The Rings trilogy while working on some sites and setup a dvd player to my 15â€? Samsung tv that I got from free flat screens dot com. By the time I got it all setup I realized I was running out of room fast. At this point I started looking for Combination LCD TV DVD. I searched my favorite place, Amazon, for hours reading reviews. I came across the Mintek 26â€? wide screen HD DVD combo . I was pretty unsteady about purchasing it but the price for 800$ was so nice for a 26″ widescreen TV that also could act as a monitor (my 4th) AND PLAY DIVX!!. It also has a card reader and usb inputs.

26 inch monitorYesterday I purchased the TV @ Amazon with one-click and used my Amazon Prime to get $4.99 overnight shipping. Today it arrived UPS. I am not sure what it costs to ship 50lbs overnight but I am guessing my Amazon Prime account payed for itself with this alone.

Lord Of The RingsSo I hooked up the television with cable and to my pc and gave it a whirl. I was really impressed with the remote control and menu functions. It has a very nice interface. I started watching lord of the rings and got back to work. Game on…

And I thought I was doing decent with dual 19″ LCD’s … now I got major monitor envy – nice setup!

But I think I still got you “beat” with my BBQ Grill! ;-)

Found these via Slashdot for when you upgrade – nice three monitor setup … and “Go Big or Go Home” with five – that Mintek is nice, but when I do the monitor upgrade, I may opt for the 24″ Dell LCD since it has higher resolution.

I actually bought the 24″ dell but gave it to my wife. I just need multiple monitors =)

what is the video card setup that you are running 4 monitors? I saw some software the other day that allows you to use your laptop monitor as an extra screen….pretty cool.

Shoe’s a stinky dude…that’s what’s up! :)

At least it’s nice to see that Shoe’s got some space to put his legs under his desk now.

Your monitor collection is mighty fine, but I’m struggling to read the links to previous/next posts at the top of the page with my lappys tiny 14″-er!

Doesen’t the top monitor give you pain in your neck? I imagine I would have problems with such a setup. I find it difficult enough with my two monitors besides eachother (2 x 21″)

Besides that, I just wanted to say howdy from Poland. I lurk in the DP forums, but does not write very often.

Actually I listen more then watch. Usually its on the history channel 90% of the time. The dvds I “watch” most I have seen tons of times before.

I know this is three years after the fact, but nice setup. I only have single monitors at home, but at work I have a dual setup (I guess I’m special at work). :)

But it doesn’t compare to your 4. I’d have 4 myself if I could talk the wife into it.
